Madeleine is a qualified Consultant Clinical Psychologist. She is a registered
member of the Health Professionals Council (HCPC) and a Chartered member of the
British Psychological Society (BPS), The Division of Clinical Psychology (DCP) and
the Faculty for People with intellectual disabilities (FPID).
Since qualifying, Madeleine has worked in services supporting adults and children
with intellectual disabilities, as well as their families and carers, within the Health and
Social Care Trusts of Northern Ireland. Madeleine has also worked therapeutically
within the area of adult mental health supporting those who experience anxiety,
depression, trauma and relationship difficulties within both the private and public
health sector.
In addition, Madeleine has a Masters in Applied psychology with clinical specialism
(adult mental health), is an accredited systemic psychotherapist and is currently
completing a BTEC Diploma in Practice Leadership within Positive Behaviour
Support with the British Institute of Learning Disabilities (BILD). Madeleine has a
passion for supporting families, parents and couples and has a keen interest in
supporting those within relationships to better understand and support each-other.
Madeleine is trained in a number of therapeutic modalities and utilises these to
ensure that an individualised approach to therapy is prioritised based on individual
need. Madeleine aims to provide a therapeutic space that feels supportive, non-
judgemental and collaborative, with the aim of assisting psychological
understanding, building self-compassion, harvesting resilience and providing
psychological education in relation to the difficulties someone may experience. In
addition, Madeleine also has experience of providing training to both parents and
staff teams in regards psychological presentations, behavioural support and
psychological issues arising within intellectual disability populations.
Madeleine is experienced in completing neuropsychological assessments for the
purpose of eligibility in relation to intellectual disability, providing clinical supervision
and in the completion of medico-legal assessments and reports.
